Because of the current pandemic, we miss going to places that we used to frequently go to. Looking ba

ck to all the experiences we had before this stay-at-home order, it’s easy to say how much we regret taking those uncomplicated moments for granted. One of the things that I personally miss is the nightlife. I miss being able to spend some time with my friends on a Friday night, unwind, and just be glad that the past week has finally come to an end. Apart from that, I also want to have another glass of drink. Because of the liquor ban, I cannot even remember the last time I had a cocktail. Staying at home really got me thinking more creatively. The past few days, I have been testing and trying out some mocktail concoctions. Since I don’t have any more bottles of alcohol, all of these drinks are non-alcoholic. I also decided to make jam mocktails since I had a bottle of jam lying around. With all the experiments I’ve done, here are three jam mocktails that you can try out too:

1. The Berry Tail

To make a Berry Tail, prepare 1 cup of raspberry (or any berry) jam, ¼ teaspoon of lavender extract, and a bottle of carbonated water. First, whisk together the jam and the extract in a small bowl. Then, place 1 teaspoon of the jam mixture in a champagne flute and pour the carbonated water. Stir gently to combine. I assure you that this drink is berry delicious!

2. Squeeze the Day

The main star of this mocktail is an orange marmalade, or orange jam. Prepare 1 cup of lime juice, 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, 2 cups of carbonated soda, 4 tsp orange marmalade, and ½ cup of sugar syrup (made by mixing dissolving 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of hot water; then cooled.). To make this drink, put all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until ice cold. Strain into an ice-filled glass for a citrus-ly amazing drink!

3. Pineapple-y Ever After

For this, you’ll need 2 tablespoons of pineapple jam, 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar, ½ can chilled lime carbonated soda. It’s very easy to make. Either in a cocktail shaker or in a jar, you just shake/whisk together all the ingredients. Serve in a glass decorated with a wedge of fresh lemon to enjoy this fine-apple drink!
